What's fascinating about the giant tortoise is that it isn't such a passive animal as one might expect. Depending on the season the tortoise will sometimes migrate close to 10km to find vegetation.

This project takes a traditional all-encompassing enclosure to a more organic one that imitates the stretched out landscape of the giant galapagos tortoise.

By adding architectural elements spread throughout, the landscape becomes fragmented, creating segmented views that add to the diversity while at the same time maintaining long lines of sight which invoke curiosity in the visitor.
