Most of the buildings on the Boulevard Anspach didn’t change since the Boulevard was built. One thing that did change is the facade on ground floor. The originally ground floor facade can no longer be recognized. The space between the buildings is currently in a moment between two phases. In the past, the car took most of the space in the Boulevard. Now, the space is empty and not filled with cars. The city plans of today will in the future transform the boulevard in a huge shopping street. It will become an univocal commercial street.

The new balance between the individual and the commerce will change the meaning of Boulevard Anspach within Bruxelles. It is not a planned design, like the city plan of today, that shows how the people should behave and act on each corner of the boulevard. But this boulevard gives the people the freedom to act. Remaining an open space is important for creating new histories. It will be that non-predicted place in Bruxelles, open for everyone.
