The shape of the design is inspired by the already existing forms of it’s surrounding. The design itself is about creating a transition between the outside space and the inside space, making the transition itself soft by adding in between spaces. The shape of the design is inspired by the already existing forms of it’s surrounding. The design itself is about creating a transition between the outside space and the inside space, making the transition itself soft by adding in between spaces. The large open spaces are divided bij an axes running through the building, functioning as both a connecting hallway as a winter garden. Although the open space have a program of their own, their layout remains free, creating the possibility for the users to create what they need at that moment from rammed earth. The focus lays on the ‘dancing’ floor, which is made from different types of rammed earth. From the floor different elements arise, fulfilling the needs of it’s users. In contrast to the free floor there is the strict grid of columns although the building, continuing in the construction of the roof. In the design itself exist a contrast between the strict form and the free use. Placing it somewhere in between purely functional and totally free in use.
