Going out to Rotterdam Blaak Station.

It’s a rainy day even with a light fog. I always take the same route, crossing Binnerote to the north. But something was different, A new presence, a light blue monolithic structure.

The Building has a different type of columns. The concrete “hanging columns” are giving support the set of slab and roof. The “Hanging columns” as if they were floating create some space in between to access. It's only when you get closer that you notice the variation in frequency.

When I enter through one of the openings I can see a concrete bench but also a solid staircase in the opposite corner. One section of the staircase looks detached from the ground. It´s also floating together with the slab and the columns. The Brass railing catches my attention. It’s a light element going up through the stairs and all over the first floor. Looking up to the ceiling I spot an opening. It's allowing the water to fall inside the building like a cascade.

The "hanging columns" shaped as Lambrequins obstruct my view of the outside buildings.  This allows me to detach from the immense emptiness of the Binnerote, helping me think and be together with my thoughts.

I feel protected and far away like if I was in a hermitage. A sanctuary in the middle of the forest of buildings.
