Whether strolling through the busy market in Binnenrotte on a Saturday morning or passing by the empty square at night, the geometric shape of the table elegantly landed in the middle of the crossing forms a point of attraction. 

The virtual envelope of the open space underneath the table framed by its silver silhouette suggests a certain atmosphere. 

Within the square cornered by the four columns the pavement stones shift their direction, just enough to outline the border of the new urban stage but remain part of the bigger plane. 

The ceiling is fitted with everything a stage needs to become alive: lights that give street performances a theatrical touch; or simply light up the square at night. 

The four legs of the table, slightly floating above the ground, reveal the first steps of four staircases. Each leg of the table has an entrance - a portal that invites one to step inside and float up away from the busy street life into a wooden vertical corridor. 

Once upstairs on the platform, the city opens up from a new, unseen angle, inviting one to take a 360 panoramic walk along the perimeter of the space.

Strangers of Rotterdam are given a moment to quietly enjoy echoes of bustling market or music of street artists in the middle of the most controversial open public spaces of the city.
